Chakan Multi-Vehicle Collision: Two Men Rescued by Fire Brigade After Being Trapped in Truck
Early morning accident involving three trucks on Chakan-Shikrapur road leaves two injured; police launch investigation.
In a dramatic rescue operation early Saturday morning, the Chakan MIDC fire brigade saved two men trapped inside a severely damaged tempo truck following a collision involving three vehicles near SK Hotel in Shel Pimpalgaon village on the Chakan-Shikrapur road.
The accident occurred around 5.30 am and involved a tempo truck, a lorry, and a container truck. Police rushed to the scene after receiving information about the incident. The trapped individuals, identified as Vishal Shriram Kaldate and Vaibhav Rajendra Kaldate, both 25 years old and residents of Jamkhed in Ahmednagar district, were rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment.
A rescue team led by Assistant Fire Officer Rajesh Pharande, with firemen V A Pawar, V V Khedkar, S A Kulal, and L H Kachare, used a hydraulic cutter and other specialized equipment to free the victims from the crushed vehicle. “The men were stuck in the driver’s cabin, and the rescue operation took about an hour,” said Pharande.
The Chakan MIDC police have initiated an investigation into the accident to determine its cause and ensure necessary follow-up actions.
