Sambhal Violence a ‘Well-Planned Conspiracy,’ Says Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party Leader Accuses BJP and Allies of Divisive Narratives, Warns of Damage to National Brotherhood

Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday alleged in Parliament that the recent violence in Sambhal was part of a “well-planned conspiracy.” He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies for promoting narratives around excavations in mosques, claiming such actions threaten to destroy the country’s brotherhood and communal harmony.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Yadav said, “The talks of excavation throughout the country done by BJP and its allies will destroy the brotherhood of the country. The Sambhal incident has shattered the harmony in the area.”

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also accused the local administration in Sambhal of acting in a biased manner, alleging that officials were behaving like “BJP workers” and using their positions to further a political agenda.

Yadav stated, “The officers out there are working arbitrarily, behaving as if they are workers of the BJP. This incident is a well-thought strategy of the BJP to deviate people from other pressing issues.”

His remarks come amid increasing tensions in Sambhal, where the violence has sparked debates over political and administrative impartiality. Yadav warned that the continued emphasis on divisive rhetoric and symbolic excavations could erode the nation’s long-standing traditions of unity and peace.

The BJP, however, has yet to issue a statement on these accusations. Meanwhile, the political discourse surrounding the incident continues to dominate discussions in Parliament and beyond.
