    VHA Pranvayu Cluster handed over MIDC land for MSME backed Common Oxygen plant

    During 2nd wave of Covid, Vidarbha Hospitals Association was motivated by the then MSME Union Minister Shri.Nitin Gadkari to have a dedicated Oxygen plant for all VHA members. This idea was taken forward and VHA officials met Shri.P.M.Parlewar,IEDS,Director MSME- Maharashtra who assured them all support and proactively helped them to process project report preparation formalities by CA Anand Daga. Subsequently Government of Maharashtra had made it mandatory for all 50 bedded hospitals and above to have their own self generating oxygen plants. This led to many hospitals joining the VHA Pranvayu Cluster.

    Dr. Ashok Arbat – VHA President stressed that it is not possible for all 50-100 bedded hospitals to have their own plants looking into the lack of space, investment involved and subsequently prohibitive running expenses on commercial electricity rates. Hence VHA decided to go ahead with this novel joint endeavor.

    Dr. Alok Umre- VHA Secretary added that VHA is now going for a common Cryogenic Oxygen Plant. Moreover, added benefits subsidized electricity and No GST for 5 years has been assured by State government to this VHA Cluster. He further stated that that a company has been formed and MSME project report submission is being followed by CA Anand Daga who has been assured all support from MSME Union Ministry for early grant release to tune of 80% of project costs.

    Dr. Anup Marar- VHA Convener informed that on 12th November; VHA has been officially handed over 12,000 sq. meters’ land by State Government at 50% cost in MIDC for this common plant. He added that as per the authority given to them by VHA, Dr. Rajesh Atal & Dr. Shravan Khetan recently took possession of Plot No.SZ-23 in Butibori Industrial Area from Shri.J.R. Lonkar, MIDC Surveyor.

    Dr.Pramod Giri- VHA Vice President updated that 30 Nagpur health care service providers namely KRIMS, Orange City, Midas, Neuron I, Neuron II, Asha, Criticare, , Nagpur Institute of Surgical Sciences, Aureus, Colors, Kunal, Jhunjhunwala, VIMS, Central India Cardiology, Shravan, TreatMe , Shree, Medicare, Getwell, Platina, Shrikrishna, Arogyam, Arogya Clinic, Swaraj, Suretech, Sengupta, New Era, Kolwadkar, Arneja, Icon and Hope are presently the shareholders of this upcoming cluster.

    Dr. Shrikant Mukewar- VHA Vice President concluded that this project is drawing attention of medical fraternity as it is first such cooperative undertaking in health sector which will cater to all Nagpur based hospitals. Once commissioned, this will be first Oxygen plant backed by State Government and MSME ministry for a group of hospitals in India and will be trendsetter for medical fraternity across nation.

    Dr. Deepak Deshmukh- VHA Treasurer thanked Maharashtra State Government, Union MSME Ministry, Nagpur Guardian Minister, Nagpur Divisional Commisionerate, District Revenue & MIDC- Butibori authorities for the ongoing fast track processing of VHA proposal.

    It is added that Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court in Suo Moto PIL No.04/2020 had directed NMC to motivate private hospitals to install their own self generating oxygen plants and had also added that adjoining government land if required should also be allocated by NMC to the consenting hospitals as an incentive.
